Laser-aided diagnostics and their latest experimental results on LHD

Description
In the Large Helical Device, a plural number of laser diagnostics have been constructed and routinely operated. For the electron density profile measurements, a multi-channel FIR laser interferometer and a CO2 laser polarimeter have been developed. One of the most challenging diagnostics on LHD is a YAG Thomson scattering system, which can measure the scattered lights at 200 spatial points along a major radius every 20 ms. (author)
