Critical current measurements on Yb-Ba-Cu-O
Description
In this study critical current measurements, I/sub c/, versus transition temperature, T/sub c/, are performed on a mixed phase sample of Yb-Ba-Cu-O, to determine the slope of the critical current curve. A pulsed current technique is used to eliminate the effect of sample heating. The results allow an estimate of the critical current at absolute zero, J/sub c/(O), to be made which is on the order of 10/sup 5/ A/cm/sup 2/
