Description

The paper presents briefly the main features and the so far obtained results of the numerical and experimental studies carried out by the ENEA and ANSALDO/NIRA, in collaboration with ISMES and AGIP, for the seismic verification of the PEC fast reactor test facility. More precisely it refers to: 1) the numerical methods developed by ENEA in collaboration with the French Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique for the non-linear core seismic analysis; 2) the numerical procedure assessed by ENEA in collaboration with ANSALDO/NIRA for taking into account the strong effects of the PEC vessel-core dynamic interaction; 3) the dynamic tests carried out by ISMES on behalf of ENEA on core element prototype mock-ups (in both air and water simulating the sodium coolant); 4) the structural and functional verification fatigue and collapse experiments performed by AGIP on behalf of ENEA on the different core elements with seismic loadings; 5) the dynamic tests, performed by ISMES on behalf of ANSALDO/NIRA and in collaboration with ENEA (in air and water) on a full-scale mock-up of the shut-down system; 6) the-on site dynamic tests carried out by ISMES on behalf of ENEA for the reactor building
