Utility strategies in times of more competition
Description
The international economy currently goes through a lasting recession. Saturated markets and a weak demand aggravate the situaton. The German industry, in addition, must face the structural and economic changes in Eastern Europe. The pending tasks and problems, and the resulting financial burdens cannot be fully estimated yet. The electric utilities are very much involved, and must adopt new motivation, organization and cooperation strategies to survive on the expanded markets. These strategies are briefly discussed. Abstract (German)
Die Weltwirtschaft ist momentan gepraegt durch eine nachhaltige Rezession. Teilweise gesaettigte Maerkte mit der damit verbundenen Nachfrageschwaeche verschaerft die Situation. Ueberlagert wird dieser Zustand - fuer Unternehmen in Deutschland - durch den Umbruch in Osteuropa. Die anstehenden Aufgaben und die sich daraus ergebenden finanziellen Belastungen sind heute nur zum Teil ueberschaubar. Die Energieversorgungsunternehmen (EVU) sind wesentlich von dieser Entwicklung tangiert. Sie muessen - um auf den erweiterten Maerkten bestehen zu koennen - auf neue Motivations-, Organisations- und Kooperationsformen zurueckgreifen; diese werden im folgenden ansatzweise vorgestellt.
