Description
The difference between radiation hardening characteristics at 1.30 μm and 1.55 μm of 2 types of single-mode fiber, pure SiO2 core type and GeO2 -SiO2 core type were investigated. In the case of high dose rate irradiation, the loss increases at 1.30 μm of both fibers were higher than those at 1.55 μm. However, in the case of low dose rate irradiation, the loss increases at 1.55 μm were higher than those at 1.30 μm. In any case, pure SiO2 core single-mode fiber showed high radiation resistivity.
