Description

The H solubility of the classical superconductor V3Ga with A-15 structure was determined by absorption measurements. V3Ga shows an exothermal solubility behaviour. At infinite dilution, the partial enthalpy of solution is Δ H-vertical strokex→0 = -(27±1) kJ/molH. The localized modes of H and D were measured by inelastic neutron scattering. For both isotopes we measured only two different mode frequencies. The two low energy modes are twofold degenerate. The results indicate that the H occupies a tetrahedral site. (orig.)
