On variations of the mechanical hysteresis value and sign of a magnetosoft alloy-79NM
Creators
Description
The phenomenon of mechanical hysteresis in alloy 79NM is studied. With increased annealing temperature during the first application/removal of stress cycles (without ''training''), hysteresis of alloy 79NM decreases and, passing through zero, becomes negative in the temperature range 1100-12000C. After a number of application/removal of stress cycles (''training'' of the specimen), hysteresis increases and, in the case of samples with an initial negative value, becomes positive. The application of a saturating magnetic field eliminates the observed instability of mechanical hysteresis, thus furnishing evidence for the magnetic nature of this anomaly. (author)
