High-speed two-coordinate profilometer

  • 1. Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, Moscow (USSR)

Description

A high-speed two-coordinate profilometer is described that is based on a proportional chamber with data output to an oscilloscope. The profilometer is used in real-time experiments on the accelerator of the Institute of Theoretical and experimental Physics for independent monitoring of the position and shape of a beam of relativistic charged particles with an intensity of from ∼ 103 to ∼ (5-6) x 106 sec-1 and dimensions of 1-10 cm2
