Electron impact excitation of the n1S0-n1P1 resonance spectral lines of Ca, Zn and Cd atoms

Description

We have studied the optical excitation functions (OEF) for three resonance spectral lines emerging from the n1P1-levels of Ca, Cd and Zn atoms using a modified hypocycloidal monochromator to produce the electron beam with the 10-70meV energy spread. In the OEFs measured from the excitation threshold up to 16eV, 14 features were revealed. The analysis of the obtained results has enabled us to explain more deeply the processes of population of the investigated levels
