Description
Studied on angular distribution of fission fragments as a function of their mass are likely to provide independent understanding of several aspects of recent interest in fission and heavy-ion reactions. These aspects include the extent of coupling of the various collective degrees of freedom, e.g. rotational and mass-asymmetry/shape degrees, the relative extent of validity of the static scission (SSM) and the transition state model (TSM) and, in particular, the question regarding whether mass distribution is frozen at the second saddle. This paper describes experiments on determination of mass-resolved angular distribution in helium ion induced fission of 292Th. The results have been analyzed
