Description
A brief review of investigation results on calculated evaluations of the structure and stability of transition metal complexes with CO2 is presented. Certain problems arise when making the calculations: evaluation of CO2 coordination way with metal; clarification of relation between CO2 molecule deformation and stability of its complexes with metals; the nature of CO2 molecule double bond coordination with metal. Four types of CO2 molecule coordination with metal are considered: via oxygen atom (1), via two oxygen atoms (2), via carbon atom (3) and via oxygen and carbon atoms (4). Taking into account the limitations characteristic of every calculational method, CO2 coordination by type (4) is the most preferable one for stable adducts
