Trust destruction as the cause of social unrest for nuclear energy and restoration
Description
As a result of persistence in initial absolutely safe type communication at a technical development stage required for objectification of its merits and demerits on relationship to society, nuclear energy brought a large social unrest. Trust destruction formed by causes such as accident beyond forecasting, data concealment, and so on, increases anxiety of accident reoccurrence, and brings a state to enhance criticism and monitoring of peoples to nuclear energy. As a political procedure to share management of risks relating to engineering to specialist only reaches to a limit and an option based on understanding of general populations is required for their participation to policy is made wider, comparison between risks with energy technique are explained more easily at standpoints of accident, environmental impact, and energy supply, and communication in response to anxiety of general populations is necessary to be performed. By establishing some communications on risk to adjust their interests and disclosing informations required by society in diverse means, on a base of understanding on features of their risk recognition and restoration of trust to engineer, it will be essential to dissolve the unrest factors and to bring a rest to future of nuclear energy. For realizing this, interdisciplinary cooperation is also desired for social systematization in science. (G.K.)
