Dosimetry of interstitial implants using flexible 192Ir wires
Description
An automated method is described for calculating the doses from interstitial implants of flexible 192Ir wires used in the radiotherapy of breast carcinoma. The automatic optimization of the wire activities to give a satisfactory dose distribution and the provision of an alternative to the Paris method of determining the treatment dose-rate for use with irregular arrays of wires are also discussed.
