Binuclear molybdenum clusters in homogeneous redox-catalysis. 2. Active form of binuclear. Molybdenum cluster-catalyst in homogeneous reduction of azide anion to ammonia by boron hydride

Description

Reaction of azide anion reduction to ammonia by boron hydride in aqueous solutions in wide pH range doesn't proceed under normal conditions. A simple catalyst - binuclear complex[Mo52O4(edta)]2- - was used for its activation. Methods of UV- IR- and X-ray phase electron spectroscopy were used to show, that active form of the catalyst represented binuclear cluster [Mo42O2]4+ (aq) formed in the course of reduction and hydrolysis of initial [Mo52O4(edta)2-
