Description
Full text: An experiment aimed at studying excited states in extremely neutron-deficient nuclei with mass A ∼ 120 was performed using the Gammasphere array at Argonne National Laboratory. The reaction 64Zn(64Zn,p2n) was used to populate high-spin states in a large number of isotopes of Pr, Ce, La and Ba. The Microball charged-particle detector, Washington University Neutron Shell and Argonne Fragment Mass Analyzer provided means of channel selection. Analysis of the data has led to the identification of five rotational structures in the near-dripline nucleus 125Pr. This is the most neutron-deficient Pr isotope in which excited states have been observed
