Features of formation of structure and properties in scandium doped cast Al-Mg alloys

Description

Aimed to develop the optimal composition of Al-Mg-Sc system alloys a comprehensive study was made into structural state, physical, mechanical and processing properties of a number of compositions. The optimal alloy composition was found to be as follows: Al-8%Mg-(0.15-0.30)%Sc-(0.15-0.20)%Ti-(0.15-0.20)%Zr-(0.10-0.15)%Mn-(0.15-0.20)%Cr-0.10%Be. The alloy developed possesses high mechanical properties, good weldability and elevated resistance to corrosion of any kind. 2 figs., 6 tabs
