Safety in relation to the approval of the alteration of installation of the reprocessing facility in the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corp. (report)

A report to the Prime Minister by the Nuclear Safety Commission, concerning the safety approval in the alteration of installation of the fuel reprocessing facility in PNC was presented; the safety after the alteration was confirmed by NSC. The alteration was the new installation of an enriched uranium dissolving tank, a No. 1 low-level solid waste storage facility and a material storehouse. The examination made by the Committee on Examination of Nuclear Fuel Safety of NSC is described: the structural design of the enriched uranium dissolving tank; the aseismatic design and fire protection of the enriched uranium dissolving tank, No. 1 low-level solid waste storage facility and material storehouse; radiation control; and so on.
