Development of density inhomogeneities in the auroral plasma injected from the plasma sheet

Description
Problem of the density inhomogeneity formation in auroral plasma injected from the plasma sheet is discussed. In the regions of the plasma sheet and partially ring current the plasma parameter β>=1. The swinging of the flute instability is possible in consequence of this. Its development has been considered with provision for the effects of the Larmor finite ion radius and the saturation resulted from the nonlinearity. Evaluations of electric fields of the disturbance and longitudinal currents have been obtained. The values determined correspond to the experiment
