Diagnostic value of CT and ultrasound for duodenal stromal tumor

Objective: To analyze the diagnostic value of CT and ultrasound for duodenal stromal tumors. Methods: The CT and ultrasound of 14 patients with pathologically confirmed primary duodenal stromal tumors were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Most tumors were heterogeneously hypoechoic on ultrasonography with heterogeneous central and peripheral blood flow on color Doppler analysis. CT showed tumor masses with heterogeneous density with moderate or peripheral contrast enhancement. Diagnostic accuracy was 10/14, 9/14 and 12/14 for CT, ultrasound and combined CT with ultrasound, respectively. Conclusion: Combination with CT and ultrasound can improve the diagnostic accuracy of duodenal stromal tumors. (authors)
