Description
Although the objective of this article is to discuss the radiosensitivity of the human lung, research in the past decade on the lungs of experimental animals, particularly rodents, has greatly increased the authors' knowledge of the response of this tissue to radiation. Thus, this article draws from these studies, comparing and contrasting the response of small animals' lungs to the available human data, with the goal of obtaining some understanding of radiosensitivity in relation to the radiation response of the lung
