Kinetics of exhaustive oxidation of small quantities of aldehydes in air

  • 1. Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Moscow

Description

This study investigated the chemical reaction kinetics of gas-phase total oxidation of acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, and butyraldehyde in a flow-circulating system on spent AP-56 platinized alumina that had been used in reforming. A mathematical description of the process has been given. It was determined that on a grain of commercial catalyst at 120-1600C, the reaction proceeds in the internal transition region; at higher temperatures, the process changes over to the internal diffusion region. The macrokinetic parameters of the process have been evaluated
