Radiation protection aspects of rebuilding the Berlin research reactor (Ber 2)

Description

The old reactor has been in operation since 1973. Now, in 1985 to 1987 the reactor should be rebuilt in order to increase its power from 5 to 10 MW and to improve the experimental facilities. Radiation protection aspects and experiences in the preparatory phase and during dismantling of all components not to be used furtheron, are described. 25 members of the Hahn-Meitner Institute and of foreign companies participated in the dismantling. An activity of 1,8.108MBq was processed during this period and a collective dose of 25mSv consumed. 5 figs., 1 tab. (Author)
