Z0-production in hadronic collisions with QCD corrections

Description

We present calculations of nonleading QCD corrections to order αsub(s) for the cross sections dσ/dQ2 and dσ/dQ2dxsub(F) for massive lepton pair production in anti pp, pp → (Z0 and γ)+ X → l+l-X. Numerical results are given at energies √s = 540 GeV for anti pp, and √s = 800 GeV as well as 62 GeV for pp collicions. The sensitivity of the results to the structure functions is checked by considering different scale violating and scaling distributions. The nonleading terms contribute importantly even in the Z0 mass region, and they are of the same magnitude as the Drell-Yan term. (author)
