Injurious effects of irradiation with iso-NSD in different fractionation on normal hepatic and gastric tissues of rabbits

  • 1. The First Teaching Hospital, Tianjin Medical Coll. Tianjin

Description

The injurious effects of irradiation with iso-NSD in different franctionations, simulating clinical pre-operative irradiation of gastric carcinoma, on normal hepatic and gastric tissues of rabbits were studied in this experiment. The changes after the termination of irradiation and operation were more severe in the single massive dose irradiation group than those in the sub-conventional and conventional irradiation groups. The reliability of the time-dose relationships in radiation injury of the normal hepatic and gastric tissues was evaluated with NSD formula. The effects of irradiation on operative wound and the optimal time interval between irradiation and operation were also investigated. The time-dose relationships in radiation injury of the normal hepatic and gastric tissues and the radiosensitivity of liver and stomach are discussed. (author)
