Structural parameters of LaCoO3 near the spin state transition

Description
Temperature dependence of the structural parameters is investigated in LaCoO3 that shows a spin state transition at Tspin - 100 K by means of high-resolution time-of-fight (TOF) neutron powder diffraction measurements. We have found that the structural parameters, such as, Co-O bond length d and Co-O-Co bond angle Θ, show no detectable anomaly at Tspin. We have compared these structural features of LaCoO3 with those of the so-called spin-crossover complexes. (author)
