Solving cooling water leakage into main steam condenser hotwells between tube to tubesheet joints
Description
The leakage of cooling water into hotwells is one of the major problems can cause increased corrosion rates or overburden polishing systems. A more severe intrusion of cooling water however, can lead to lengthy and costly shutdowns. Cooling water leakage is usually attributable to either damaged tubes or loss of joint between the tube and tubesheet. While stopping the cooling water from entering the hotwell from damaged tubes is a relatively simple plugging procedure, eliminating leakage between tube to tubesheet joints is a much more complex one. This paper discusses the major causes or poor tube to tubesheet joint integrity and offers a proven solution to it
