Aufbauend auf einer Einfuehrung in die physikalisch-technischen Grundlagen der Kernspintomographie gibt das Buch einen Ueberblick ueber die charakteristischen kernspintomographischen Befunde bei den wichtigsten Erkrankungen von Auge, Augenhoehle und Sehnerv, wobei besonderer Wert auf die Auswahl geeigneter Untersuchungsparameter und ein instruktives Bildmaterial gelegt wird. Der Stellenwert der Kernspintomographie im Vergleich zu anderen bildgebenden Verfahren wird besprochen; Richtlinien fuer den Einsatz der Kernspintomographie in der Augenheilkunde bilden den Abschluss.
