Charge carrier generation in polystyrene

Description
Data on the physics of charge carrier generation in polystyrene are presented. The data are obtained by the pulse electric field method. The method is based on measuring the residual electric conduction induced in a sample by a short radiation pulse, when applying the pulse voltage to a sample and on controlled beginning of signal detection in a load. It is shown that the field dependence of the delayed (residual) component of radiation-induced polystyrene electric conduction is conditioned by generation, recombination, dissociation and stabilization of pairs due to electron capture on traps within the Onsager sphere
