Yb2O3-TiO2 system

Description
Phase transformations in the system Yb2O3-TiO2 in the temperature range of 900-2000 deg C were studied by the methods of differential thermal and X-ray phase analyses. Melting points of the samples were determined and phase diagram was plotted. Two compounds of cubical structure Yb2TiO5 and Yb2Ti2O7, congruently melting at 2080 and 2050 deg C respectively, are formed in the system. Wide ranges of cubical solid solutions on the basis of Yb2O3 and Yb2TiO5 also exist in the system
