Description

Pick-up of deuterium in Zr-2.5Nb coolant channels of Kakrapar Atomic Power Station-2 (KAPS-2) after an effective full power years (EFPY) of 8.5 has been determined employing hot vacuum extraction - quadrupole mass spectrometry (HVE-QMS). Necessary corrections of the deuterium pick-up during sampling are also arrived at by determining the deuterium content from the mock-up samples on virgin coolant channels. Deuterium pick-up in Zr-2.5Nb coolant channels is lower than zircaloy-2 coolant channels, having similar EFPY. (author)
