The article explains the advantages of a novel, green emitting, rare-earth X-ray intensifying screen with gadoliniumoxisulfide luminescent layer (Orthex). Compared to the usual blue emitting foils, this new one requires lower doses, noise is reduced, and resolution and contrast are much better. (orig.)

In diesem Beitrag werden die Vorzuege einer neuentwickelten gruenemittierenden Seltene-Erden-Verstaerkerfolie mit Gadoliniumoxisulfid-Leuchtstoff (Orthex) vorgestellt. Sie zeichnet sich im Vergleich zur herkoemmlichen blauemittierenden Folie aus durch geringeren Dosisbedarf und reduziertes Rauschen bei hoher Aufloesung und sehr gutem Kontrast.
