Studies on the conductance of dispersion system 30% TBP(kerosene)/UO2(NO3)2-HNO3(H2O)

Description

In the interested concentration ranges of uranyl nitrate and nitric acid, the acidities, uranium concentrations timperature and hold-up of organic phase have great influence on the conductance of dispersion system in which the aqueous phase is the continuous phase and organic one is the disperse phase. Also, the effect of the intensity of mixing on the conductance is not essential. The solution of TBP dissolved in kerosene is a nonpolar solvent, and the absolute value of conductance is still very small even though a large amount of uranium and nitric acid are extracted into the organic phase. The latter conductance is five orders of magnitude less than that of aqueous solution of the same concentration of uranyl nitrate and nitric acid
