Neutron, proton, and deuteron induced reaction products in the 10 to 40 MeV range
Description
Neutron, proton and deuteron induced excitation functions for several target nuclei (51V, 56Fe, 58Ni, 65Cu, 90Zr, 93Nb, and 181Ta) were calculated employing the GDH pre-equilibrium model of Blann and the Weisskopf-Ewing evaporation model in the 10 to 40 MeV range. In some instances calculations were extended beyond 40 MeV. Agreement between theory and experiment is fair to good in most of the cases investigated in spite of the simple nature of the theoretical model employed. Limitations of the nuclear model and possible improvements are discussed
