Description

The instability of the longitudinal and transverse dust lattice waves as a result periodical modulations of equilibrium dust charges is analyzed. The criterion and the maximum growth rate of the parametric instability is obtained for the case of a small depth modulation. The parametric resonance of the DL modes can provide a useful tool for determination of dusty plasma parameters
