Description
We develop Ce-Nd co-doped ceramic YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet, Y3Al5O12) scintillators. Though optical and γ-ray experiments, we confirm that any unexpected intermediate bands are not created via co-doping, and each band exists independently. Although the combination of Ce3+ and Nd3+ turned out to be rather unfavorable as a scintillator, we may find appropriate activator combinations. (author)
