Monte-Carlo simulation of optimization choice of shielding materials for proton radiation in space

Description
For the spatial proton environment of the flying vehicle in the earth trapping belt which is 556 km of height and 90 degree of obliquity to equator, M-C simulation was carried out for different pure shielding materials (aluminum, tungsten, tantalum, lead etc.) and intermixture containing tungsten coating by SHIELD programme, and following items were analyzed, i.e., energy deposition, non-ionizing energy losses (NIEL), the transmission proton spectrum, the secondary particles and its energies as well as the generated isotopes in silicon material behind different shielding materials. The optimized choice of shielding material composition and its orders was carried out. (authors)
