Structural, optical and electrical properties of chemically deposited CdSe thin films

  • 1. Solid State Physics and Thin Film Physics Laboratory, Department of Physics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur (India)

Description

In the present work, CdSe thin films are deposited by cost effective chemical deposition and SILAR methods at room temperature (300K) on to stainless steel and glass substrates. These films characterized for structural, optical, electrical thermo electrical and wettability properties. XRD patterns of CdSe thin films reveal the hexagonal structure. From optical studies, optical band gaps (Eg) 1.66 and 2.0 eV obtained for CBD and SILAR deposited CdSe thin films, respectively. Room temperature electrical resistivity of CdSe thin films is in the order of 104-105 Ωcm with n-type electrical conductivity. Surface studies suggested hydrophobic surface of CdSe films. (author)
