Study of recrystallization of magnesium-samarium alloys
- 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (Russian Federation). Inst. Metallurgii
Description
A study was made into the effect of samarium in amounts of 0.1, 1.2 and 3.4 % on magnesium recrystallization. The results obtained show that introduction of samarium into magnesium leads to essential increase of temperatures of onset and finish of recrystallization. It takes place as in the case of recrystallization proceeding under hot working so under annealing conditions after deformation. Samarium is found to promote magnesium grain refinement in recrystallized material. Electron microscopical exlamination testifies that alloy recrystallization on hot working is preceded by cell formation
