Properties of solid molecular hydrogens as a function of density and ortho-para concentration as studied by Raman scattering

  • 1. Amsterdam Univ. (Netherlands). Natuurkundig Lab.

Description

The results of Raman scattering experiments on solid molecular hydrogens as a function of density and ortho-para concentration are presented. The Raman scattering spectra of double rotational transitions are discussed. These spectra are taken as a function of ortho-para concentration in zero pressure H2 and as a function of density in both H2 and D2 up to 5000 atm. at the melting line. Double rotational transitions are also observed in the liquid phases of H2 and D2 at zero pressure. Measurements of the density dependence in H2 and D2 and the isochoric temperature dependence of these frequencies are discussed. The dependence on the ortho-para concentrations of several libron properties is given
