Description
Two alternative approaches to the increase of radiation therapy efficiency of radioresistant tumours have been considered. One of them - hypoxyradiotherapy - is suggested for predominating protection of normal tissues, the other one - consists in short-time hyperglycemia directed at selective intensification of tumour tissue affection. Both approaches are based on metabolism peculiarities of tumour hypoxic cells, conditioning radioresistance of neoplasms on the one hand, and creating a real possibility of a directed modification of tissue radiosensitivity during tumour radiotherapy, on the other hand
