Dynamic processes and their effects in pipe systems
Description
The calculation of shock waves and their effects on pipe systems is a prerequisite of the design and dimensioning of piping. The characteristics method is used to solve the problems relating to the system of two simultaneous, hyperbolic partial differential equations, consisting of a continuity equation and an equation of motion. The reduction to dimensionless quantities allows a general representation of the pressure and velocity distributions along a one-tube piping between a feeding tank and an isolating valve, a problem that is of special interest in this context. This representation takes into account frictionless and frictional flow as well as different shut-off times of the gate valve and various shock wave propagation velocities. (orig./HP)

Die Berechnung von Druckstoessen bei der Auslegung von Rohrleitungen ist unerlaesslich. Zur Loesung des aus Kontinuitaets- und Bewegungsgleichung gebildeten Systems zweier simultaner hyperbolischer partieller Differentialgleichungen erster Ordnung wird das Charakteristiken-Verfahren herangezogen. Die Zurueckfuehrung auf dimensionslose Groessen gestattet eine allgemeine Darstellung der besonders interessierenden Druck- und Geschwindigkeitsverteilung laengs einer einstraengigen Rohrleitung, die zwischen einem sie speisenden Behaelter und einer Absperrarmatur verlaeuft. Dabei werden reibungsfreie und reibungsbehaftete Stroemungen, ferner unterschiedliche Schliesszeiten des Rohrschiebers und unterschiedliche Druckwellenfortpflanzungsgeschwindigkeiten betrachtet.
