Temperature hysteresis of magnetization in rapidly quenched Sm33Fe67 alloy

  • 1. Irkutskij Pedagogicheskij Inst., Irkutsk (USSR)

Description

In the alloy Sm33Fe67 temperature magnetic hysteresis (TMH) of two types has been investigated. The temperature hysteresis of the first kind of magnetization is determined by the change of quantitative ratio of phases during heating and cooling. Hysteresis of the second kind is related to irreversible changes in domain structure and to rotation of magnetic moments of SmFe2 microcrystallites in the process of transition to superparamagnetic state. By X-ray diffraction analysis phase composition of the alloy has been ascertained: Sm, SmFe2 and Sm2Fe7 Laves phases. TMH of the first kind is registered at the temperatures exceeding 770 deg C. TMH of the second kind is observed during alloy cooling from the temperatures below 770 deg C
