Development of Direction-free Passive Safe Shutdown Device for Micro Reactor
Description
This report is for the project planing of development of direction-free passive safe shutdown device for micro reactor. The objective of the project is passive safe shutdown device of micro reactor using control rod, and related technology is the driving mechanism including actuation triggering and mechanical behavior of direction-free passive shutdown device. The passive safety shutdown system usually uses a gravitational drop-down method based on the vertical core structure. But the micro reactor requires a direction-free control rod passive safe shutdown method. So it is necessary to secure a direction-free control rod passive safe shutdown technology including a horizontal driving method applicable to micro reactor. The contents of research is composed of concept development, concept design and key concept performance test of direction-free passive safe shutdown device for micro reactor.Through this research, it will be possible to enhance diversity of the existing reactor safety shutdown system by utilizing the direction-free control rod insertion concept that enables passive safety shutdown regardless of core structure. And, the key technology of passive safe shutdown system optimized for micro reactors can be applied to micro reactors to be developed in the future
