Core composition and structure for FBR type reactors
Description
Purpose: To decrease swelling (volume increase) in the core structures of fbr type reactors by providing structures composed of a core composition consisting of austenitic steels containing titanium and silicon at concentrations capable of suppressing void formation. Constitution: The reactor core structure for fbr type reactor is formed from austenitic steels containing 0.03 - 0.5% of titanium and less than 0.7% of silicon. The above composition contains 6 - 26% of nickel and 9 - 26% of chromium. The swelling limit under practical fbr type reactor conditions is, satisfactorily, within 1.5% (1 x 1023 nvt irradiation) in the core structures consisting of such a composition. (Horiuchi, T.)
