Measurement of B Decays to phi K gamma

Description

The authors search for the decays B- → φK-γ and (bar B)0 → φ(bar K)0γ in a data sample of 228 million B(bar B) pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. They measure the branching fraction Β(B- → φK-γ) = (3.5 ± 0.6 ± 0.4) x 10-6 and set an upper limit Β((bar B)0 → φ(bar K)0γ) < 2.7 x 10-6 at the 90% confidence level. They also measure the direct CP asymmetry in B- → φK-γ, ΑCP = (-26 ± 14 ± 5)%. The uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively
