Study of cocrystallization of nickel ion with copper ammonium sulphate using 63Ni tracer
- 1. Mysore Univ. (India). Dept. of Post-graduate Studies and Research in Chemistry
Description
The cocrystallization of nickel ammonium sulphate with copper ammonium sulphate has been studied at low concentrations of nickel salt, using radiotracer 63Ni. It has been found that the logarithmic distribution law of Doerner-Hoskins holds good for this picrometric system. This leads to the conclusion that the crystals that separate during crystallization are in momentary equilibrium with the mother liquor and hence the composition of the crystals separating is not homogeneous.
