Beta decay data for neutron-rich Li-Cl nuclides

  • 1. Pacific Northwest Lab., Richland, WA (United States)
  • 2. Los Alamos National Lab., NM (United States)

Description

We have used the Time-of-Flight Isochronous (TOFI) spectrometer at the LAMPF accelerator to systematically measure the half-life (t1/2), delayed neutron emission probability (Pn), beta-delayed multi-neutron emission, average energy of delayed neutron spectra, and beta-delayed alpha emission for a large number of neutron-rich isotopes for all Z values between Li and Cl. The TOFI spectrometer measures the A,Z, and Q of each neutron-rich ion and determines the decay properties by means of a delayed coincidence between each ion and subsequent decay products
