Scintillation detection units

Description

The standard applies to scintillation detection units designed for the detection of alpha, beta, gamma, X-ray and neutron radiation, and defines the general technical requirements on completeness of delivery, testing methods, conditions of marking, packing, transport and storage. Unit testing according to CMEA standards covers the following factors: structure, resistance to mechanic and climatic effects, energy resolution, the maximum-minimum ratio for a 60Co point source, total detection efficiency, background, sensitivity, instability, lightproofness, length and elevation of plateau, reliability, operating characteristics and marking durability. The most frequently used instability tests are described in detail. (J.B.) 3 tabs
