Temperature variations of fourth- and fifth-sound in liquid helium II films

  • 1. Korea Univ., Seoul (Republic of Korea)

Description

Temperature variations of fourth- and fifth-sound in liquid 4He films are evaluated explicitly on the basis of the anomalous excitation spectrum and superfluid hydrodynamics. Fourth- and fifth-sound behave in a way similar to that of bulk liquid 4He. The velocity of fifth-sound is larger than that in the bulk case through the whole range of temperature and both sounds vanish at the transition temperature. (Author)
