Research study on optical in-core instrumentation system
- 1. Tokyo Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Engineering
Description
We have been developing a neutron detection system using 3He-Ne laser emission, and its applicability to the reactor in-core instrumentation system has been discussed. The system employs the Radiation Trigger Discharge Laser(RTDL) for low neutron flux and the Nuclear Pumped Laser(NPL) for high flux. Firstly, verifying the possibility of RTDL as a neutron detection system, we made experiments with the neutron, γ-ray and X-ray irradiation. The results show that a drop in starting potential of the 3He-Ne laser system by these irradiation. (author)
